Note Cards now available. Four scenes of Buenos Aires at Night

Note Cards now available. Four scenes of Buenos Aires at Night

Note cards now available. These cards were made with four images from the Buenos Aires at Night series. They are glossy, high quality prints on the front, blank inside and bearing my logo and description on the back. At this time, I am only selling these from Buenos Aires. Shipping not included in the price.

1 note card plus 1 envelope = $5.25 pesos (or USD $1.40each)

4 pack with 2 silver and 2 black envelopes = $20 pesos (or USD $5.25)

I intend to seek out stores in Buenos Aires to host the cards and from which to sell, but at this time I wanted them to be up on my blog at least. Let me know if you’re interested and as always, if you have interest in  a photo, I am now  printing C-prints out of Los Angeles and giclees (ie, canvas, etc.) out of Colorado for stateside orders (so, shipping cost will not be from Argentina).

And if you don’t buy from me, buy from someone else.

Support your starving artist!

cheers,

Cate

PlazaItalia009I had the priveledge to photograph off the 8th floor balcony in Plaza Italia tonight. The balconly nearly put me center in the plaza and with an awesome view. Thanks to Laura and roommates for letting me invade on this chilly Buenos Aires night. I was having some fun with the lights and my zoom and admiring the traffic along Santa Fe. I had flashbacks to sitting in traffic in Los Angeles and how futile it felt to own a car. It makes me happy to know I can walk, hop on the subte or pop on the bus now.

The images below come from a quick and dirty edit. I am still looking for balconies, roof tops and especially a view of the Avellenada bridge in La Boca from up above. Drop me an email if you’d be willing to let me invade.

I was fortunate to photograph off the roof of a 24-story building in the Congreso area yesterday night (Thanks Annie and Jimmy.) The apartment with the amazing view also doubles as an art gallery and you can check out Jimmy’s art work here.

But, after scaling two ladders and promising myself I wouldn’t trip and fall to my death… what an amazing 360º view.

Here are a few quick pics from the shoot.

Check out the rest of the Buenos Airs at Night series here

(as always, click on photos to view them larger)

Thanks to those that came last Thursday for the BuenosAires@Night show. It was a great evening and I look forward to doing it again. For those of you who could not make it and for my family in the states I am posting the images here.

Also, thank you to everyone that completed the questionnaire as part of the raffle. The winner was Omar and he chose to go home with the photograph of the Puenta de la Mujer in Puerto Madero. I have included answers to the questionnaire under a selected few of the photographs.

As this is an ongoing project, I am still searching for balconies and roofs from where I can photograph. If you’re willing to let me invade your place for about an hour, please email me at catetheirishgal (at) gmail (dot) com.

Thanks to Brett and Guillermo at HOTarthouse for lending me (yet again) their space and home.

A couple of photos from the 20th floor roof top of an apartment in Belgrano. I’ll post more on the photography page in the days to come. I plan on making a series of roof top shots of Buenos Aires at night and showing and/or selling them.

Buenos Aires at night. A view looking down at Avenida Rivadavia and Pasteur in Congreso

Buenos Aires at night. A view looking down at Avenida Rivadavia and Pasteur in Congreso

It pays to look down sometimes. This is a hand hold ASA400, 1 second, at F11. The city is beautiful at night when it starts to light up and the blueness of the sky seems to crawl down the buildings.
